who we help

The GEO schools in Brazil (Ginasio Experimental Olimpico - or Olympic Experimental Schools) are a network of public schools focused on high performance sports education combined with academic excellence. These schools aim to develop young athletes in underprivileged communities, while ensuring they receive a strong academic foundation.

Students attend school for an extended schedule, balancing academics with sports training (emphasis on Olympic and Paralympic sports with structured training sessions).

GEO schools are part of the Brazilian Public Education System, mainly funded by municipal and state governments, who allocate budget for teacher salaries, infrastructure and academic materials. Some funding may also come from federal programs and grants and partnerships with sports organizations or private companies.

Despite being publicly funded, the schools lack resources to maintain high quality training for young athletes. Equipment like balls, nets, training gear, cleats etc wears out quickly due to daily use. And most students come from low income backgrounds, making it hard or even impossible for them to afford gear that ensures they can train at a competitive level.

That's how your donation can make a huge impact!
